Climbing for charity
A team including Auto Windscreens' Head of Fleet and Facilities, Shaun Atton, has scaled the highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales, raising more than £6,000 for charity.
Starting at 5am on 2nd July, the group climbed more than 3,000 meters (10,000ft) in under 24 hours. Their first challenge was Ben Nevis in Scotland, where the group was met by some welcome refreshments from Auto Windscreens’ Managing Director, James MacBeth to help them on their way. They then travelled to Scafell Pike and Snowdon. Charities supported were Cancer Research UK, Ashgate Hospicecare and The Royal British Legion.
Shaun Atton, said: “We started training in March and climbed the height of Mount Everest over four months. This challenge was far harder than we expected and although there were times we felt like giving up, we encouraged each other every step of the way. We are so proud we completed it as a team and raised some much-needed money for charity.”
